Description
I love me for this! ~ #deviantHEART
This was the second place winning photo in my college's art show this year. I am very happy to have finally won something!
I took over one-hundred photos of horses and riders completing the course; different jumps. The camera was set to 3200 film speed, aperture was between 7 and 4. I had the camera taking six frames in one button press (not sure what that is called.)
Honestly, it was pure luck to have gotten this shot, as well it was sort of accidental. I really didn't know what my pictures would look like with the settings. I was about five to seven feet away from this obstacle in a local horse show back in March of this year; the jump was set up right by the ring's fence.
I am not sure of the rider's or the horse's name or competition number, sad to say. Still, all thanks to them as well!
Also, this picture has been published! It's available in a small anthology of poems (by one of my college's creative writing classes) and photographs (by my digital photography class). If you are interested in learning more, perhaps even purchasing the book, here's the link!:

Well this is a bit of a cool shot. It is very surreal looking and almost seems like it could be something out of one of the earlier seasons of The X-Files. haha
The rider and horse being blurred out is a very cool effect indeed. However, I feel as if there could have been more done. Perhaps if you could have sot at a different angle, like maybe with one end of the gate in the foreground more near the right hand side of the photo, with the other end in the background more at the left hand side of the photo (or vice versa). Such a straight on shot makes this image almost a bit too abstract.
Just a thought. <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s…" width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile)"/>
